Hopi Prophecy

One of the messages going around this year... (I posted this at my other blog also)

“You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.
Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour.
And there are things to be considered:
Where are you living? What are you doing?
What are your relationships? Are you in right relation?
Where is your water? Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.
This could be a good time!
There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore.
They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of
the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.
See who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves.
For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a
halt. The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

In the I Ching, there is the phrase "Step into the Great River". When this comes up as part of a reading, it means that now is the time to take action. There are times in life for everything - resting, learning, sharing, keeping one's counsel, turning away from a path, leading, following, working together.

When it is time to step into the great river, do not hesitate. Do not let doubt control your actions. Some people may think that it is still better to stay at the river's edge, but then their hopes and dreams may be lost as the riverbank is worn away.

Interesting that in this Hopi prophecy and in the I Ching, change is not necessarily something to be feared. Many people fear the unknown in the modern world, but who profits most from things remaining stagnant? Worth thinking about.

I shall have no problem launching into the middle of the river. Among other things, I was born for it. ;)

LOL! I'll probably end up in the middle of the river simply through being busy shepherding other folks.

Interesting times.... I'm trying to up my exercise level again, starting this week. Got in two sessions today instead of just one. We'll see if I can keep it up... Literal or figurative river, it's a good idea.

When I read it to Jen she was immediately convinced I was already in the center flow. LOL

Interesting though, all my dreams about rivers and ships and so on.

I haven't been saying much lately, leaving such things to you folks mostly, but I've been watching and reading and...fire scrying...a lot.

We can't stop emissions at 450ppm, we might not stop them at 650...no matter how we cut it, we're past being able to mitigate that.

Interesting times are here; people don't realize it, or don't want to, but it is over already. Change is in full spate.

I keep hearing Her voice telling me I can't save them all and even if I had the power, She wouldn't let me. *shudder*

Yeah, I certainly think you're more in the middle than I am. I keep wondering if I should be doing as much as I'm doing with the SCA these days... I don't see how I'm having that much positive influence on anyone through that venue. I like my friends but... and of course there's a certain amount of expenditure for 'keeping up baronial appearances'... sigh

It is interesting about your dreams having the rivers and ships; I thought of that when I read the prophecy.

We have to get together in person! So much that can't really be said in electronic format. I don't do fire scrying, but I have to say I've been enjoying the new woodstove -- it has a window!

Yeah, I read the same article you did on emissions. Even the current financial difficulties aren't enough to curb them effectively. Still, I'm glad trade and production are down even as much as they are. I know that isn't a popular stand, but with the soured economy China is producing less, we're not shipping cardboard to them for re-manufacture and they aren't shipping us as much stuff.

I wish there were something we could do to help bring human-produced emissions down significantly.

Well...that's hard. We don't do much with the SCA of course, although I really really wanted to attend Yule. :(

You have to maintain a certain presence though, above minimum involvement since you are who and what you are. We're simply going to pounce on events we can manage as they come. Not the most organized method but it is what we can do.

As far as having an impact...the Society will always be hard to have an impact on..it is, after all, full of people who are to one degree or another full of themselves and their abilities. Very opinionated people. We geeks usually are. ;)

That being said, you have had an impact if the responses to your LJ are any indication. Perhaps not so much as you might like, but it is there and that is far better than none at all.

:)

You have a point, I'm having some effect indirectly, through the LJ blog.

I guess I'm just wondering if it's enough, or if in fact I should be directing my time and energy in a completely different direction. I guess we'll see what next year brings...

Ah well, you'd have to define enough and in doing that also define just how such that 'enough' would make sense.

A lot of people are shouting, so to speak. Most aren't getting through. You are, however little or unsatisfactory you feel it might be.

You can't save them all either lass, or for that matter make enough of them see sense to avoid what is coming. It is too late for that, sadly. It is a hard thing, and it will get harder.

As to other directions, perhaps it is time for that. Perhaps not quite, you'd be a better judge of that. You are certainly feeling some pressure on the subject, an indicator that considering what to do about it is necessary.

We'll have to find some time to set and chat a bit; been a while since we've done that. *nods* Yes, I think that would be a good idea.
